Home Our distillery Our Process

We combine tradition and innovation to create the evocative character of The Glen Grant all on the grounds of our distillery. With ingenuity at the heart of our process, our tall, slender pot stills and water-cooling purifiers deliver our distinctive spirit character. Together with the finest hand-selected ex-bourbon barrels and ex-Spanish oak sherry casks, we enhance the journey of the unique spirit through its maturation.

Water

Water runs through our distillery and plays a fundamental part in the creation of our whisky. Our mineral-rich water from the Caperdonich Spring ensures both purity and quality.

Barley

Barley is Scotland’s native grain, and the Spey Valley is one of the most fertile regions of the world. At The Glen Grant, we only use Scottish barley, which is known for being full of flavour.

WOOD

Our expert distillery team meticulously select the finest quality ex-bourbon barrels and sherry casks to mature our extraordinary whisky. Each cask enhances the journey of The Glen Grant’s light, floral new make spirit throughout its maturation.

Vapours

The Glen Grant was the first distillery to use a water-cooling purifier while distilling whisky. Together with our tall, slender pot stills, and double purification during the distillation process, these innovations guaranteed that only the very finest vapours would condense into our spirit.
